Problems and Solutions
If you have any problems setting up your printer or printing, use these
troubleshooting tips. You can also check “Troubleshooting” in your electronic
manual.
Software Problems
If you’re having problems
installing your printer
software . . .
■
If you see the “New Hardware
Found” screen in Windows 95
or Windows 98, click Cancel.
You can’t install your printer
software that way.
■
Make sure your printer is
turned on and the printer
cable is securely connected
to the printer and computer.
■
Make sure you’ve closed all
other programs on your
computer, including any
screen savers. Then try
installing the software again.
If you need help with the
creative software on your
CD-ROM . . .
■
For installation instructions,
see page 7. (You cannot use
the creative software on
Windows 3.1.)
■
For help using the programs
you installed from the CD-ROM,
contact the software company.
See page 41.
If you can’t see the EPSON
Status Monitor 2 . . .
First, make sure you installed Status
Monitor 2. (If you didn’t, follow
the instructions in your Start Here
folder to install the printer
software.) Then make sure Status
Monitor 2 is turned on. (Check
Settings, Background Monitoring
in the Status Monitor 2 window.)
If you’re running Windows 3.1x,
you don’t have Status Monitor 2.
