Select Reference Paper Thinnest Select the paper type according to the thickness of the paper you
loaded.
The printer stores the optimum media settings according to the
paper type.
When you change the paper type, each media setting registered to
the current Custom Paper Setting number changes to the value for
the paper type you changed to.
The following are the guidelines for the paper weight (g/m
2
) for each
paper type.
Thinnest: 60 or under
Thin: 61 to 80
Thick: 81 to 120
Thickest: 121 or over
Adhesive: For adhesive paper, select Adhesive no matter what the
weight of the paper is.

Platen Gap 1.2 Select the platen gap, which is the distance between the print head
and the paper. The default setting is recommended in most
circumstances. Select a wider setting if printed images are smeared.
If, upon performing head alignment, you feel that it is still not
completely aligned, change the setting to Narrow.
