6.4 Extended Boluses
6.4.1 Extended Bolus with
Amount Now
An Extended Bolus with Amount
Now can be useful when you eat meals
with both rapidly and slowly absorbed
carbohydrates including meals with a high
fat content such as some fast foods. An
Extended Bolus With Amount Now is a bolus
that is administered in two stages ‒ an
amount immediately, and the remainder
over an extended period of time.
All three presets can be administered
in any order,
but only one can be
administered at a time.
