Operation - RT10
33
Working process
The aeration process begins as the tractor moves
forward with the rotation of the rotary units. The
tines skim and scrape the ground, harvesting the
cut crop, and spreading the crop rearwards evenly.
Operate for a short distance and then check
the result of the process. If the operator deems
appropriate to increase or decrease the angle of
the rotary groups to improve the working process,
adjust as required. See “Tilt Adjustment” on page
31
Figure 29
For best results, operate the tedder at an angle of
7—10°. The front tines (Item 1) should graze the
ground [Figure 29].
For heavy or damp forage adjust the rotary groups
to the maximum inclination (10°).
For light or dry forage adjust the rotary groups to
the minimum inclination (7°).
During operations, always maintain the tractor
speed within 3—6 mph (5—10 km/h).
Do not exceed the optimum PTO speed of 540 RPM.
IMPORTANT
Except for cases where otherwise specified,
all adjustments must be performed with the
tractor engine off, the PTO disengaged, the
parking brake pulled and the ignition key
removed from the dashboard.
WARNING
Do NOT exceed 540 RPM PTO.
Keep PTO shields and all guards in place.
Keep away from moving parts.
Keep bystanders away.
Figure 30
The direction of rotation of the rotary units is as
shown. Left unit rotates clockwise (Item 1). Right
unit rotates counter-clockwise (Item 2) [Figure 30].
