4. Carefully turn the NVR over and remove the cover. The easiest way to do this is to pull
up on the edge that hangs over the rear panel of the unit.
5. Disconnect the power and data cables from the hard drive.
6. Slide the hard drive towards the front of the NVR and remove it from the unit.
7. If you are not planning to replace the hard drive immediately, reattach the cover and
cover screws (4x). For full instructions on installing a hard drive, see 21.2 Installing a

21.2 Installing a Hard Drive
WARNING
Make sure that the power cable has been disconnected from the NVR before removing / installing
the hard drive.
Prerequisites:
• There must be no hard drive currently installed in your NVR before using the steps be-
low. For full instructions on removing hard drives, see 21.1 Removing the Hard Drive,
page 198.
