Resolving Data master lost
If the current Data master cannot be found by the
system then an alarm is triggered. The Data master
may become temporarily unavailable under certain
circumstances, such as if the MFD is rebooting after
a software update of power cycle.
1. If you have not made any changes to your
system then WAIT for the Data master to become
available. When the Data master is available the
alarm will cancel and you can use you MFDs as
normal.
2. If the Data master does not become available
check the power connection and status of the
Data master MFD and resolve any issues
3. If problems with the Data master MFD cannot
be resolved then select Options from the Data
master lost warning.
The Data master selection list is displayed.
4. Select an MFD from the list that you want to
designate as the new Data master.
Important: If this is not the MFD that is connected
to the SeaTalk
ng®
/ NMEA 2000 network then
devices and data from this network will not be
available to networked MFDs.
Changing the Data master
On multiple MFD networks, at power up the system
will search for the Data master MFD. If more than
one Data master is found or no Data master is found
then you will be prompted to select a Data master
before you can use you MFDs.
You can change your Data master MFD at any time:
1. From the Homescreen select the Set-up icon.
2. Select Maintenance.
3. Select Data Master.
4. Select an MFD from the list that you want to
designate as the Data master. This should be
the MFD that is connected to the SeaTalk
ng®
/
NMEA 2000 network.
Important: Device and data from the SeaTalk
ng®
/ NMEA 2000 network will NOT be available to
networked MFDs, if the designated Data master
is not connected to the SeaTalk
ng®
/ NMEA 2000
network.
