Bath Use

WCaution
To avoid Product damage, do not turn on the Bath without fluid in the tank. Make
sure the heating coils are fully immersed. Rear Panel and the Fluid Expansion
Reservoir.
Fill the Bath with clean, unpolluted fluid. Fill the Bath carefully through the large rectangular
access hole to a level that allows for stirring and thermal expansion, see Thermal Expansion.
Make sure the fluid expansion reservoir is properly installed, clean, and free of foreign matter.
Carefully monitor the bath fluid level as the Bath temperature rises to prevent excessive overflow
or splashing. Carefully remove excess hot fluid when necessary.
Set the Temperature
To view or set the Bath temperature set-point:
1. Push SET to show the current set-point selection, for example: :
1. 25.0 The set point 1, 25.0 °C
2. Push SET to select this memory location and access the set-point value.
3. Push UP or DOWN to increment or decrement the shown value.
For example, from a displayed reading of
24.68 C, push UP to change the value to:
C 30.00 New set-point value
4. Push SET to store the new set-point value and to show the vernier value. The Bath heats or
cools to the new set-point:
C 30.00 Newly-stored set-point value
0.00000 Current vernier value
5. Push EXIT to show the Bath temperature again.
The Bath heats or cools until it reaches the new set-point temperature. Turn off the cooling to
reach and control at higher temperatures.
Do not exceed the temperature limit of the bath fluid when you set the set-point. Correctly set the
over-temperature cutout for added safety, see Cutout Set-point.
To control stability, adjust the proportional band, see Proportional Band.
Bath Use
General
Make sure to select the correct fluid for the temperature range of the calibration. Select bath
fluids that operate safely with adequate thermal properties that meet application requirements.
Fluids expand when heated and can overflow if not observed, see Rear Panel and the Fluid
Expansion Reservoir. See General Operation for information specific to fluid selection and refer
to the MSDS sheet specific to the fluid selected.
