2. Push SET to accept the new cutout set-point.
The next function is the configuration menu. Push EXIT to show the Bath temperature.
Controller Configuration
Configuration and operating options and calibration parameters follow the cutout set-point
function in the secondary menu. Enter the secondary menu and push SET until the display shows
COnFIG. Push SET again to enter the configuration menu. The configuration menu has five sets of
configuration parameters:
probe parameters
operating parameters
serial interface parameters
IEEE-488 interface parameters
controller calibration parameters
Push UP or DOWN to highlight the desired parameter, and push SET.
Probe Parameters
Push SET to enter the menu. The probe parameters menu (PrObE) contains the parameters, R0
and ALPHA, which characterize the resistance-temperature relationship of the platinum control
probe. Adjust these parameters if necessary to improve Bath accuracy, see Cooling Control.
1. Push SET to access the probe parameters.
2. Push UP or DOWN to change the value of the parameter.
3. After you reach the desired value, push SET to store the parameter as the new value. Push

R
0
This probe parameter, normally set for 100.000 Ω, refers to the resistance of the control probe at
C.
ALPHA
This probe parameter, normally set for 0.00385°C
–1
, refers to the average probe sensitivity
between 0 °C and 100 °C.
