Operating Parameters
When in the probe menu, push UP to indicate the operating parameters menu (PAr).
Push SET to enter the menu. The operating parameters menu contains:
• cooling mode
• hot gas bypass mode
Cooling Mode
The cooling mode (CooL) determines whether refrigeration is in Auto mode, On, or Off. Normally,
the cooling mode is set to Auto mode. In Auto mode, refrigeration is
On below approximately
60 °C.
Note
If the fluid is cooling from >60 °C, the refrigeration turns on at approximately 59 °C. If the
fluid is heating from <60 °C, the refrigeration shuts off at 60 °C. If the set-point is over
5 °C higher than the current Bath temperature, the refrigeration automatically shuts off
until needed to maintain the temperature selected.
Sometimes, Auto mode is undesirable. In that case, set the refrigeration to On or Off. When the
refrigeration is set to On or Off, the refrigeration is on or off for all temperatures.
WCaution
To avoid Product damage, know that the refrigeration can be damaged, or the
lifetime shortened, if used >60 °C for over 1 hour.
To change cooling modes:
1. Push SET to access the parameter setting.
Auto Cooling mode set for automatic
2. To change to On or Off mode, push DOWN until the desired mode appears.
On Cooling mode set to on
OFF Cooling mode set to off
3. Push SET. Push EXIT to skip individual steps.
Hot Gas Bypass Mode
The hot gas bypass (HGb) system reduces cooling or refrigeration capacity. Reduce cooling
capacity to improve temperature stability in the Bath and reduce energy consumption for specific
bath conditions.
