W Caution
To prevent Product damage, know that the overflow tube is not large enough to
handle large flow rates encountered from an over-filled tank. The tube is for
expanding fluid rates from heating only. Fill only until the level reaches the top of
the baffle, see Figure 2.
Before You Begin
WWarning
The Product has a soft cutout (user-settable firmware) and a hard cutout (set at
the factory). Check the flash point, boiling point, or other fluid characteristics
applicable to the circumstances of Product operation. Make sure to adjust the soft
cutout to the fluid characteristics of the application. As a guideline, the soft cutout
should be set 10 °C to 15 °C below the flash point of the bath fluid. See Heat
Transfer Fluid for specific information on bath fluids, and see Cutout Set-point.
Set up requires you to fill the Bath with fluid and connect the Bath to proper power. See
Installation for detailed instructions. Make sure to place the Bath in a safe, clean, and level
location. See Tipping Prevention Bracket Installation.
Fill the Bath tank with an appropriate fluid. Select the correct fluid for the temperature range of
the calibration. Select bath fluids that safely operate with adequate thermal properties that meet
application requirements. Clean, distilled water works well for Bath operation at moderate
temperatures. Carefully pour the fluid into the Bath tank through the large rectangular access
hole above the tank. Do not spill any fluid.
