S90-600 O FRICK QUANTUM EVAPORATOR CONTROL PANEL
Page 22 OPERATION
gas and other valves are closed and the hot gas
valve is opened. The fans are stopped.
· Bleed - The time in minutes to drain (a natural
bleeding of refrigerant). During this step all other
valves are closed, and the fans are not running.
· Fan Delay - The time in minutes to delay after
defrost prior to starting the fans and the cooling
process. This is the last step of the defrost
sequence. This step is important for preventing
liquid from being blown off the evaporator coils
and into the room. Opening the liquid valve will
start frosting the evaporator coils. During this
step the liquid and suction valves are opened.
The soft hot gas, hot gas, and bleed valves are
closed, and the fans are not running.
· Refrigeration Counter Setpoint – The
refrigeration counter is the length of time in
minutes that the liquid valve has been open (in
the cooling mode) since the last defrost. If liquid
override is enabled, then defrost is initiated only
if the refrigeration counter is greater than this
setpoint. This setpoint is used to prevent
unneeded defrosting.
The following toggle key is provided to select what fan
speed output to use during the Pump Out step of defrost
when there is a two-speed or two-step fan - (enhanced
unit only):
· Fan Speed LowSelects the fan low speed
digital output for a two-speed fan or the fan step
1 digital output for a two-step fan.
· Fan Speed High – Selects the fan high speed
digital output for a two-speed fan or the fan steps
1 and 2 digital outputs for a two-step fan.
The following setpoint is provided to get the desired fan
speed during the Pump Out step of defrost when there is
a variable speed fan:
· % - A percentage of the analog signal to send to
the output that controls the fan’s speed.
These toggle keys provide additional defrost options:
· Fan Bump - If enabled, this option will cause the
fan to turn on for 2 seconds at the beginning of
the Fan Delay step, to shake water from the fan
blades.
· Always Finish Defrost - When this option is
enabled, the zone will complete the Defrost cycle
when the zone's mode is set to “OFF” during
Defrost. If this option is disabled, the zone will be
turned off when the mode is set to “OFF”, even if
the zone is in the middle of a Defrost.
The following special selection is on this screen:
· Clear Counter - This clears the Refrigeration
Counter. The Refrigeration Counter is the length
of time in minutes that the liquid valve has been
open (in the cooling mode) since the last defrost.
The counter is reset during each defrost
sequence. Depending on the zone’s
configuration, the Refrigeration Counter may
influence the initiation of defrosts.
