S90-600 O FRICK QUANTUM EVAPORATOR CONTROL PANEL
Page 24 OPERATION
· Pump Out - The time in minutes to pump out the
liquid in the coils. During this step, the liquid and
hot gas valves are closed, the suction valve is
opened, and the fans are running. The fan runs
according to the fan settings that were entered
on the “Heating Setpoints” screen. If it is a two-
speed fan, the selected fan speed is energized. If
it is a variable speed fan, the fan is turned on the
amount of the variable percent.
· Pump Out Fan Speed – The speed setting of
the fan while it is running during pump out.
· Soft Hot Gas - The time in minutes to provide
soft hot gas heating of the coils. During this step
the soft hot gas valve is opened, the other valves
are closed, and the fans are stopped. -
(enhanced unit only)
· Fan Delay - The time in minutes to provide hot
gas heating of the coils without fans running.
During this step the hot gas and soft hot gas
valves are opened, the other valves are closed,
and the fans are stopped.
· Heating Fan Speed - The speed setting of the
fan while it is running after fan delay when the
hot gas and fan are both on for heating.
· Bleed - The time in minutes to drain (a natural
bleeding of refrigerant). During this step, all other
valves are closed, and the fans are not running.
· Fan Delay - The time in minutes to delay after
heating, prior to starting the fans and the cooling
process. This is the last step of the sequence.
This step is important for preventing liquid from
being blown off the evaporator coils and into the
room. Opening the liquid valve will start frosting
the evaporator coils. During this step the liquid
and suction valves are opened. The soft hot gas,
hot gas, and bleed valves are closed, and the
fans are not running.
When there is a two-speed or two-step fan there is a
toggle key to select which fan speed to use during Pump
Out and another toggle key to select which fan speed to
use during Heating: - (enhanced unit only)
· Fan Speed Low – Selected to use the low speed
of the two-speed fan or the step 1 fan output of a
two-step fan.
· Fan Speed High – Selected to use the high
speed of the two-speed fan or the step 1 and 2
fan outputs of a two-step fan.
When there is a variable speed fan a setpoint is provided
to select the desired fan speed to use during Pump Out
and another setpoint is provided to select the desired fan
speed to use during Heating:
· % - A percentage of the analog signal to send to
the output that controls the fan’s speed.
