Function tests
Function - All housing components, insulation components and protective covers must be pres-
ent and undamaged
- Check that all screw connection torques are correct
Switch the battery charging system back on again.
- Check the characteristics and settings
- Perform a short circuit test such as open circuit, nothing should happen
- Connect charger leads to wrong poles battery charging system must indicate po-
larity reversal
Checking functions via the Service menu
The battery charging system must be operated in short circuit - preferably using the desig-
nated adapter. Select the menu item for the service.
- Output current: measurement using an ammeter
- Output voltage: measurement using a multimeter - the device must be operated in
open circuit.
To access the Service menu, the code
7109 must be entered under "Configurati-
on" in the main menu
The menu item "Service" then appears in
the submenu
The Service menu comprises two subme-
nus:
- Device tests
- Options tests
The "Device tests" menu item must be used
to reset error "551 - Hardware change de-
tected"
"Device tests" consists of four tests:
- Fan Test
- Current Test
- Voltage High Test
- Voltage Low Test
