Converting auto-transformer to 480 V

This can result in serious injury and damage to property. Before opening the device:
► Turn the power source mains switch to the "O" position
► Disconnect the power source from the mains
► Attach a clearly legible and easy-to-understand warning sign to prevent anyone switch-
ing it on again
► After opening the device, discharge any live components (e.g. capacitors).
Converting auto-
transformer to
480 V
The auto-transformers can be operated at a mains voltage of either 480 V or 500 V. The
factory setting for the auto-transformers is 500 V. If the mains voltage is 480 V, the auto-
transformers must be converted to 480 V.
IMPORTANT! If the auto-transformer was converted to a mains voltage of 480 V, cross out
„500 V“ in the space above the rating plate and enter „480 V“ in the empty box beside it.

Pull out mains plug
Remove auto-transformer cover
On the terminal strip (near the socket)
in the „500 V area“ (C), disconnect
phase conductors (L1, L2, L3) (Fig.5)

Connect phase conductors (L1, L2, L3)
to the three outermost connections,
„480 V area“ (D), on the terminal strip
(Fig.5)
Fit cover
Mark the conversion to 480 V mains
voltage in the relevant empty box ab-
ove the rating plate
