NOTE
In step 9, if not prompted “Database Conversion Finished” or if other errors occurred, call Syn-Tech’s Customer
Satisfaction Center (CSC) at 800-888-9136, ext. 1500, for assistance.
9. When the upgrade is complete, restart the customer’s computer and verify the database converted to
the new software version.
UPGRADE FMU(S)
10. Verify all fixed and mobile transactions (if applicable) were successfully downloaded.
11. Turn off FMU power at the circuit breaker panel.
12. Upgrade the FMU(s).
13. Restore FMU power and use a laptop connection to:
a. Initialize FMU (commands 02, FF)
b. Set/verify site signature (command 38),
c. Set system type and, if necessary, lock baud rate down (command 59).
14. Using the customer’s computer, upload the site configuration, authorization list, and send pricing.
Verify the site configuration recorded in step 3 matches the customer’s software site configuration.
15. Use a laptop connection to reconnect to FMU(s) and verify the configuration, system options,
authorization list, and pricing were sent successfully.
OPERATIONAL CHECKS
16. FMU’s validated an authorized Prokee
®
/Smartcard; user prompts to start a transaction appear on
LCD screen.
17. All FMU’s rejected an unauthorized Prokee
®
/Smartcard; “UNAUTHORIZED KEY SIGNATURE…”
prompt appeared on LCD screens.
18. All FMU’s successfully prompted the user to insert Prokee
®
/Smartcard and identified pumps available
for selection.
19. All FMU’s prompted, “PUMP CURRENTLY IN USE, SELECT ANOTHER…” when a dispenser in use
was selected from the FMU keypad.
20. All FMU’s successfully activate appropriate dispenser hoses after reading an authorized
Prokee
®
/Smartcard.
21. Each FMU allowed simultaneous operation of respective dispensers and all FMU’s operated
simultaneously. Accurate transaction data was received by Central Controller after polling master
FMU.
22. Activate each hose (one hose at a time) in automatic mode and verify no other hoses will dispense at
the same time without being activated.
