18. COOLANT, GAS AND OIL LEAKS FROM
CYLINDER HEAD AND ROCKER CASE
Check for coolant and gas leaks from the cylin-
der head.
Check for oil leaks from the rocker case.
19. ENGINE STARTING PERFORMANCE
Check to see if the engine starts smoothly.
Check operation of the key switch and starter.
Check the glowing condition of the preheat indi-
cator (
) vehicle with engine preheat system.
20. OPERATION OF ACCELERATOR LINKAGE
Check the accelerator pedal for sticking, binding
and full return.
21. EXHAUST GAS CONDITION AND NOISE
After the engine has warmed up, check that
black smoke is not emitted at idling, medium and
high speeds.
Check for abnormal engine noise.
