Why does my Galil Motion Control Controller reject commands?
    • A
      Anthony KaneAug 15, 2025
The controller may reject commands due to a problem reported by the TC1 command. Correct the problem reported by TC1.

What to do if the servo motor runs away when the loop is closed in Galil Motion Control DMC-40 0 Controller?
    • J
      James StewartAug 18, 2025
If the servo motor runs away when the loop is closed, it might be due to wrong feedback polarity. Reverse the motor or encoder wiring. Remember to set the Motor Type back to the default value: MT 1.

What to do if the motor oscillates on Galil Motion Control DMC-40 0 Controller?
    • C
      christineloweAug 22, 2025
If the motor oscillates, it could be due to the gain being too high or too little damping. Decrease KI and KP, and increase KD.

    Sabrina JacksonAug 26, 2025
How to fix encoder position drifts in Galil Motion Control Controller?
    • C
      ccookAug 26, 2025
If the encoder position drifts due to noise, shield the encoder cables, avoid placing power cables near encoder cables, avoid ground loops, use differential encoders, and use ±12V encoders.

    Christopher HuntAug 28, 2025
What causes encoder position drifts on Galil Motion Control DMC-40 0 Controller?
    • C
      Christopher RodriguezAug 29, 2025
If the encoder position drifts, review all connections and connector contacts to ensure they are secure, as the issue might be poor connections or an intermittent cable.

What to do if motor doesn’t move with Galil Motion Control DMC-40 0 Controller?
    • J
      John Mooney MDSep 1, 2025
If the motor doesn’t move, correct the problem reported by the SC command.

What to do if I am unable to read main or auxiliary encoder input on Galil Motion Control Controller?
    • S
      Sherri ReeseSep 4, 2025
If you are unable to read the main or auxiliary encoder input, check the encoder wiring. For single ended encoders (MA+ and MB+ only), do not make any connections to the MA- and MB- inputs. Also, check the CE command.

Why am I unable to read main or auxiliary encoder input on Galil Motion Control DMC-40 0?
    • J
      Johnny RobinsonSep 7, 2025
If you are unable to read the main or auxiliary encoder input, it could be due to wrong encoder connections. Check the encoder wiring. For single ended encoders (CHA and CHB only), do not make any connections to the CHA- and CHB- inputs. Alternatively, the encoder might be damaged, in which case you should replace it. Also, the encoder configuration might be incorrect, so check the CE command.

    Michael GilmoreSep 12, 2025
What to do if the motor runs away with no connections from controller to amplifier input in Galil Motion Control?
    • J
      Joshua McdanielSep 12, 2025
If the motor runs away with no connections, it may be due to the amplifier having an internal offset. Adjust the amplifier offset, which may also be compensated by using the offset configuration on the controller (see the OF command). Another cause may be a damaged amplifier, in which case you should replace it.
