Changing the operating mode of the RS232 port
You can use the RS232 port to switch the active channel using a serial device (see
page 13) or to issue monitoring information (see page 16)
The Switch mode to switch the active channel using a serial device is enabled in the
default settings of the KVM switch.
Using the RS232 port to issue monitoring information requires the activation of the
Monitoring mode
How to choose the operating mode of the RS232 port of the KVM switch:
Setup Menu
1. Use the terminal emulator to establish a connection to the KVM switch.
If the setup menu is not displayed, the Monitoring mode of the service port is
enabled. Enter
»!« to switch to the setup menu.
2. Use the Arrow or Arrow keys to select RS232 Port Config and press Enter.
3. Use the Arrow or Arrow keys to select the row Mode.
4. Press the Space key (repeatedly) to choose between the following options:
Switch  use the RS232 port to switch the active channel using
a serial device
Monitoring  use the RS232 port to issue monitoring information
5. After having selected your desired settings, press Q to leave the dialog.
6. Press the S key to save your settings.
