7-9-6-3 BF (Beamformer) Overall Test
This diagnostic test performs the self-diagnosis of every electric component and interface in BF board.
Table 7-4 below outlines Voluson® P8 / Voluson® P6 Diagnostics Tool described in the sub-sections.
7-9-6-3-1 FPGA(BF) Configuration Test
It verifies FPGA(BF) configuration on BF board by reading/writing test data, and displays the current
voltage levels and the test result as PASSED/FAILED.
7-9-6-3-2 SCI(Scan Control Interface) Test
It verifies SCI interface between BF-FPGA and RFS-FPGA, and displays the current available
GL(GeckoLight) units and the test result as PASSED/FAILED.
7-9-6-3-3 MLA(Multi-Line Acquisition) Test
It verifies MLA interface between RFS and BF, and displays the current passed GL Units and the test
result as PASSED/FAILED.
7-9-6-3-4 ADC Interface Test
It verifies ADC(Analog Digital Convertor) interface between BF and AFE on BF board, and displays the
current passed total ADC number and the test result as PASSED/FAILED.
7-9-6-3-5 BF Voltage Test
It verifies Each Power Voltage Level on BF board, and displays the current voltage levels and the test
result as PASSED/FAILED.
7-9-6-3-6 BF Temperature Monitoring
It verifies BF Temperature interface on BF board, and displays the current levels and the test result as
PASSED/FAILED.
7-9-6-3-7 IIC(Ext) Interface Test
It verifies I2C path named I2C_Ext by using EERPOM on BF board, and displays the test result as
PASSED/FAILED.
7-9-6-3-8 VPD(BF) Test
It verifies VPD Information embedded in EEPROM on BF board, and displays the part of VPD
information and the test result as PASSED/FAILED.
