BEFORE ASSEMBLING, MAKE SURE THAT THE SWITCH IS IN THE “OFF” POSITION AND THAT THE POWER CORD IS UN-
PLUGGED. DO NOT PLUG IN OR TURN ON THE SAW UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION
STEPS DESCRIBED IN THIS SECTION OF THE MANUAL.
INSTALLING A MAIN BLADE (OPTIONAL)
7. Install a blade on the arbor making sure the teeth
are pointing towards the front of the saw A.
9. Turn the blade to align the groove B with the red arbor
lock button C and press it to lock the blade in position.
10. While pressing the red arbor lock button, tighten the
arbor nut* by turning the arbor wrench counter-
clockwise. Then close the lower blade guard and
re-install the blade cover before starting the machine.
Note: If the lower blade guard is not closed, the machine
cannot be turned on.
8. Re-install the flange with the concave side against
the blade, then hand tighten the arbor nut by turn-
ing it counterclockwise.
* When tightening the arbor nut, take care not to over tighten as this will make it very difficult to remove later. Because
the rotation of the blade runs counter to the direction of the threads on the nut, the blade is essentially tightening itself to
the nut whenever the saw is running. Though there are no hard and fast rules for how much torque is required, the arbor
nut should be always tightened hand-tight and just slightly beyond “snug”.

The scoring blade is a small blade in-line with the main saw bade that turns in the opposite direction. As the name
indicates the purpose of the scoring blade is to make a shallow cut the same width as the kerf of the main blade
into the more fragile surfaces and allowing for cleaner, chip-free cuts in panels with melamine or other decorative
veneered outer surfaces.
Note: For this very reason, scoring blades are often sold with their matching main blades. Should you choose to pur-
chase the two blades that are not part of a matching set, please check with your retailer to make sure that the blades
you intend to use together are in fact compatible with each other, and right for the types of cuts you intend to make.
