The use of a scoring blade is essential to obtaining clean chip-free cuts whenever using a table saw to cut sheet
goods with melamine or other decorative veneered outer surfaces.
It is essential that the scoring blade be properly aligned to the main blade before making any cuts. The best
method of testing for alignment is to make a series of test cuts, using scrap material, until the blades are perfectly
aligned.
Once the blades are aligned you can then proceed through your cuts with confidence.
To align the blades proceed as follows:
Note: For clarity, the blade cover and the extension table
have been removed.
1. Unplug the machine and position the blade at 90º.
2. Place a square against the center of the main blade
and measure the distance between the blade and
the table T-slot A.
3. Place a square against the center of the scoring
blade and measure the distance between the
blade and the T-slot B.
4. To align the scoring blade with the main blade, insert
the scoring blade alignment tool C into the opening
D located on the left behind the machine.
5. Turn the alignment tool in the required direction so
that the distance between the scoring blade and
the T-slot is the same as the distance between the
main blade and the table T-slot.
6. Remove the alignment tool.
7. Re-install the blade cover and make a test cut scrap
piece to verify that the main blade and scoring
blades are correctly aligned on both side of the
scrap piece. Re-adjust as needed.
