INSTALLATION

At the time of commissioning, complete all relevant
sections of the Benchmark Checklist located on the
inside back pages of this document.
Thecommissioningshouldbecarriedoutbyacompetent
personapprovedatthetimebytheHealthandSafetyExecutive
andinaccordancewiththecurrentissueofBS6798.
• Donotoperatetheboilerwithoutwater.
• Makesurethatthesystemhasbeenthoroughlyushedoutwith
coldwaterandthatallcleanserifusedhasbeenremoved.
• Withthegasserviceisolationvalveclosed,withnodemand
fromanyexternalcontrolsandthepowersupplytotheboiler
switchedoff.
• Testforgassoundnessandpurgeairfromthegassupply.
• Presstheon/offbuttontoactivatetheappliance.
• Makesurethatthedomestichotwaterandheatingfunctions
onyourappliancearenotactivated.
• Makesurethattheinstallation'scold-waterinletisolating
valveisopen.
• Opentheisolatingvalveslocatedontheconnections:they
mustbepositionedinthedirectionoftheow.
IftheCentralHeating(C.H.)pressurefallsbelow0.4bar,the
displaywillashthecurrentpressureandtheboilerwillnot
operate.Toincreasethepressure,theCHcircuitrequires
"Toppingup".

When turning the 230Vac supply on to the boiler
should the water pressure be less than 0.5 bar an
automatic air vent function will be activated for a
period of 5 minutes. During this time the pressure
should be increased and air vented from the system.
During this time the burner will not re in either CH
or DHW mode and the display will blink displaying
the current water pressure.
• Ventairfromeachradiatoruntilthewaterowsnormally,
thenclosethevents.
• Leavethepump'sairventopen.

The following two operations will unblock the pump's
motor after a prolonged storage period and will
purge the air from the pumps circuit.
• Removethescrewfromthepumpshaftandintroduceaat
screwdriver.Atrickleofwater,undernopressure,should
normallycomeoutofthepump.
• Rotatethepumpshaftthroughseveralturns,thenreplace
thescrew.

• Fillthetrap3/4fullwithwater(1).
• ActivatetheHeatingand,ifGlow-wormintelligentcontrols
aretted,DomesticHotWaterfunctions.
• Runtheapplianceforatleast15minutes,withaheating
temperaturesettogreaterthanorequalto50°C(not
applicableforaninstallationwithunderoorheating).
• Ventairfromeachradiatoragainuntilthewaterows
normally,thenclosethevents.
• Ifyouhavedifcultiesinremovingtheair,launchtheair-
removalprogramsintheheatingcircuit(seethechapter
("Technicalsettingsfortheapplianceandlistofparameters").
• Makesurethatthepressureindicatorshowsavalueof0.8
bars;otherwise,lltheapplianceagain.

The combustion for this appliance has been
checked, adjusted and preset at the factory for
operation on natural gas (G20) as dened on the
appliance data label.
No measurement of the combustion is necessary.
Should the appliance require to be converted to LPG
gas ensure you follow the gas conversion section
before lighting the boiler.
• Checkthattheappliancehasbeeninstalledinaccordance
withtheinstructions.
• Checktheintegrityoftheuesystemandueseals.
