CONNECTING MAIN POWER (115VAC) WIRING:
A field supplied service switch must be wired in series with the incoming 115Vac main power supply.
All electrical wiring and grounding must conform to local electrical codes and/or the latest edition of the
Canadian Electric Code Part 1, CSA Standard C22.1 or National Electric Code ANSI/NFPA No. 70. Refer to
the wire diagrams in this manual for proper instructions. See unit nameplate for minimum circuit
ampacity and maximum over-current protection size. Select the proper supply circuit conductors in
accordance with tables 1 through 4 in the Canadian Electric Code, Part 1, CSA Standard C22.1 or tables
310-16 and 310-17 in the National Electric Code, ANSI/NFPA No 70.
Do not rely on the gas or water piping to ground the metal parts of this product. Plastic pipe or dielectric
unions may isolate the product electrically. Service and maintenance personnel who work on or around
this product may be standing on wet floors and could be electrocuted by an ungrounded product.
syncFURNACE OD is equipped with two temperature limit switches. One is used to control water heater
supply water temperature, it is located on the water supply outlet pipe and will automatically reset once
water temperature cools 10°F below the switch set-point point. The other limit switch is located in the
water heater jacket and is not resettable. If this switch opens, contact Gradient Thermal Inc. for service
and support. These switches are included in the product to prevent excessive overheating. DO NOT
TAMPER WITH THE WIRING OR POSITION OF THESE SWITCHES. DO NOT OPERATE THIS PRODUCT IF
THESE SWITCHES CONTINUE TO CAUSE THE PRODUCT TO SHUTDOWN. CONTACT A QUALIFIED SERVICE
TECHNICIAN IMMEDIATELY TO ENSURE THE SAFE OPERATION OF THIS PRODUCT.
