CONTROL SETUP:
syncFURNACE OD has an advanced internal control platform that incorporates custom operating logic
specifically designed for optimizing prioritization and functionality related to combined domestic water and
fan-coil space heating. Built-in priority logic is included which enables automatic switch-over to domestic
water heating anytime incoming domestic water flow is sensed. Domestic water heating is prioritized over
fan-coil heating.
The fan-coil can is configured to remain in operation but use the same water supply setpoint as the
domestic water heating call. Fan-coil setpoint will automatically re-adjust to the domestic water setpoint
when both demands are present. If the burner input rate becomes greater than 80% of total capacity, the
fan-coil will be shut-off until either the burner load drops below 30% or the domestic water heating
demand has ended. Once only a fan-coil heating demand is present again, the controller will increase
supply water to the fan-coil setpoint.
The controller also has functionality incorporated to manage the DHW Recirculation functionality. When
enabled, the controller will turn on its internal pump and circulate water through recirculation system
piping. It will measure the temperature and if below the desired setpoint will turn on the burner and heat
up the water to the desired setpoint. Once the setpoint is achieved, the controller will turn off the pump.
After 20 minutes the pump will turn back and repeat the cycle to ensure recirculation temperature is
maintained.
In addition to controlling domestic water, DHW recirculation and fan-coil heating, the controller also
manages the blower operation of the fan-coil unit. The syncFURNACE OD controller turns on/off the fan-
coil blower motor to satisfy warm-air heating, continuous air circulation and air-conditioning thermostat
demands.
