1. Check water heater cold water supply and ensure operation within safe operating
characteristics and pressure limits.
2. Ensure all valves are open and that water is able to enter and fill the system piping.
3. Check filters and/or dirt strainers and ensure no blockage. If blockage exists, clean.
4. Check for dirty pressure sensor. Ensure there is no debris or dirt on sensor port.
Replace sensor if unable to clean and obtain proper functionality. Clean with nylon
brush only. Be gentle when cleaning.
5. Ensure wiring is properly terminated between sensor and syncFURNACE controller.
1. Inspect flame sensor and ensure clean (replace if not).
2. Inspect spark ignitor and ensure clean and gap meets above requirements (replace if
not).
3. Check spark and flame sensor cables between heat exchanger and ignition module,
ensure ground is connector to spark ignitor.
4. Ensure high-limit safeties are functioning properly (see notes in ALM 3).
5. Inspect gas-valve and ensure proper operation of power module and valve.
6. Check for partially or fully blocked chimney system. Inspect chimney system and
ensure meets installation requirements.
7. Ensure gas supply is turned on and meets installation requirements.
