7.4 Upgrading the System Firmware
Toupgradethesystemrmwareyouneedtohavethefollowingles.Inaddition,youneedtouseacomputer
and USB cable.

®
• OPS662 :USB Driver software for the FC8600
Preparation
InstalltheUSBDriversoftwaretoyourcomputerbeforeupgradingthesystemrmware.
How to upgrade the system rmware
(1) Connect the computer and the plotter via the USB interface.
(2) Load a sheet of paper in the plotter.
(3) Turn on the power while pressing the LEFT ARROW and RIGHT ARROW keys.
Or
After turning on the power, press the LEFT ARROW key and the RIGHT ARROW key simultaneously
within 2 seconds.
(4) The plotter displays the menu shown below.
UPDATE ? No
(5) Select “Yes” using the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW key.
UPDATE ? Yes
(6) Press the ENTER key to display the menu shown below.
PLEASE SEND PRG.
(7) Sendrmwaretotheplotterfromthecomputer.
Execute SEND.EXE.
SelectthesystemrmwarelefromtheSEND.EXEmenu.
OutputthesystemrmwareletotheFC8600.
(8) The following menu is displayed while data is being received.
**KB RECEIVED
(9) Theplotterwillstarttheinitializationroutinewhenallthedatahasbeenreceived.Thermwareversion
isdisplayedduringtheinitializationroutine.Checkthermwareversionthatyouupgraded.
(10) Turn off the power.
