Setting up PIN code locking; locking and unlocking the unit
A password could be set-up to protect the parameters stored in the unit against modifications by untrained
operators. By default password protection of parameters is switched off.
To set-up password protection one touches in the device settings menu the small key lock symbol.
One gets to a screen for direct numerical value input. The key lock symbol is shown to remind what is going
to be adjusted. As a default the value of 2000.0 is suggested. This value is recommended to be used as
password, as it is common on LOCTITE units, can be found in the RC15 manual, and is well known to the
LOCTITE service. Confirming this screen with OK sets-up password protection and the small key lock symbol
in the device settings menu will appear as locked. As any other parameter this new setting has to be saved
explicitly by using the storage disc symbol one level higher, to be permanent.
Is the unit locked in that way, some of the
parameters in the main menu (marked here in red)
are no more directly accessible.
• Flowrate-, quantity, and time adjustment
• Menu symbol
• Adjustment of pressure
Still directly accessible are the remaining symbols :
• Reservoir on/off switching
• Purging
• Manual starting and resetting errors
• Chose different program (X,Y,Z)
If the unit is locked and one of the protected
parameters is touched for modification, the password
screen will display instead of the expected parameter
numerical entry screen. The small key lock symbol
reminds what is to be input.
Unfortunately in that case the right PIN is not
suggested, but we know from above that it should be
2000.0. : (Digits to the right of the decimal are not
evaluated in the PIN or password context).
If the right PIN value is input and confirmed with OK
the unit gets unlocked and all parameters can be
modified.
Unlocking is valid until the next power down, or until
intentional locking as described above.
