OEM Scan Engine Models
There are three models of the OEM scan engine, which may be used with the inter-
faces described in this manual. Refer to the chart below to determine the models
that can be used with your interface.
Connect the Development N3680 Scan Engine to a PC
The development OEM scan engine can connect to a PC for evaluation.
Connect with USB
Note: The N3680XX-XX-USB scan engine will only communicate USB through the 10 pin
modular connector.
a. Turn off power to the terminal/computer.
b. If using full-speed USB, connect the USB interface cable to the interface
board and to the matching USB port on the computer.
c. Verify the scan engine operation by scanning a bar code from the Sample
Symbols in the back of this manual. The scan engine beeps once when a bar
code is successfully decoded.
Note: The default interface is USB Keyboard (PC). If you change to USB Serial, you will need
to install the USB driver. See "USB Serial" on page 2-8.
