  If you receive the message “CIU 888 should be configured before updating INI files” when updating INI files using the Service tool or Migration tool, it indicates that the CIU 888 has not been fully configured and may be in a factory reset condition. To resolve this, re-upload the site configuration to CIU 888 using the Migration tool, and then update the INI files using the Migration tool.

  If you are unable to log in to the CIU 888 Web interface of the secondary CIU 888 with your configured password after commissioning a redundant system setup, it's likely because a Reset to Factory settings operation was performed during commissioning. This resets the password to the factory default. To resolve this, log in to the CIU 888 Web interface using the factory default password and change the password when prompted by the system.

Why doesn't the secondary Honeywell Gateway CIU 888 assume secondary role during commissioning?

  During the commissioning of a redundant system setup, if the secondary CIU 888 does not assume the secondary role, it could be due to the following reasons: * The Sync Link cable between the CIU 888s is disconnected. This can be observed in the Logs window and Diagnostics window of the CIU 888 Web interface. Reconnect the Sync Link cable between the CIU 888s. * The Configuration lock key switch and/or W&M lock key switch of the primary and/or secondary CIU 888 in the redundant system setup is/are in the ‘closed’ position. Open the Configuration lock key switch and W&M lock key switch of both the primary and secondary CIU 888. Then, perform the procedure for commissioning the redundant system setup.

  If the CIU 888 status is striked out in the Hot Standby status of Entis Pro, it could be due to these reasons: * The serial cable between the Entis Pro system and CIU 888 is disconnected or malfunctioning. Reconnect the serial cable. If the cable is faulty, replace it. * There is a mismatch between Tank and CIU 888 CRCs within CIU 888 due to database corruption. This can be observed in the Logs window of the CIU 888 Web interface, and the ring of light may be red. In this case, perform a Reset to Factory Settings operation via the CIU 888 display and upload a new site configuration to CIU 888 using the Service tool/ Migration tool.
