Special Notes for Electrochemical CO
2
Cartridges
It is important that you read all of the notes below before installation or use of your
new cartridge.
Installation of your electrochemical CO
2
Cartridge
The cartridge is supplied on a Bias PCB to ensure that the sensor is ready to use
when installed.
To install the cartridge, follow the instructions below.
Note
Cartridge Installation or Replacement must never be carried out in a
hazardous area.
If a cartridge was previously fitted to the Impact Pro into which the CO1.

cartridge is to be installed, remove the Front Cover grille using the Allen
Key provided in the bottom of the Impact Pro. Unscrew the screw in the
center of the cartridge and lift the cartridge from the Impact Pro.
Again using the Allen Key provided in the base of the Impact Pro instrument, 2.
unscrew the screw in the center of the new CO
2
cartridge. Do not attempt
to remove the screw from the bottom of the Bias PCB. Remove the Bias
PCB from the Cartridge.
Place the CO3.
2
cartridge into the Impact Pro and screw the cartridge fully
home using the Allen Key. Guide the cartridge if necessary using your
fingers to ensure that it is seated correctly.
Replace the Pump Seal with the one provided with your cartridge and 4.
replace the Front Cover. Refit the Allen Key into the bottom of the Impact
Pro.
To complete installation of the cartridge, switch the Impact Pro on and 5.
accept the New Configuration when prompted to do so. Note: This must
be done immediately after installation in order to maintain correct bias on
the CO
2
sensor.
Allow 20 minutes for the sensors to stabilize before use. Note that the 6.
Impact Pro may be in alarm condition during this time.
Using your Electrochemical CO
2
Cartridge
Please ensure that the following points are noted when the cartridge is in service.
Always keep the instrument batteries charged or keep fresh alkaline cells 1.
fitted when the cartridge is installed. Never allow the batteries to become
drained.
The operating temperature range of this cartridge is 0°C to +40°C. Do not 2.
use the cartridge outside this range. The cartridge may be stored safely
at temperatures down to -10°C.
