Installing the serial port
Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have a nut driver.
Procedure
1. Power down the server.
2. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
4. Do one of the following:
•
Extend the server from the rack.
• Remove the server from the rack.
5.
Remove the access panel.
6.
Do one of the following:
• Remove the secondary riser blank.
• If installed, remove the expansion board.
7. Install the serial port on the rear of the chassis.
