Installing the Screw-in RAID Controller Card
Step 1 Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see 5.2 ESD Protection.
Step 2 Power o the server. For details, see 5.4.2 Powering O the Server.
Step 3 Remove the power cables. For details, see 5.7 PSU.
Step 4 Remove the server. For details, see 5.4.4 Removing the Server and Guide Rails.
Step 5 Remove the chassis cover. For details, see 5.8 Chassis Cover.
Step 6 If I/O module 2 is
congured with a full-height full-length riser module, remove
the riser module. For details, see 5.11 Riser Module.
Step 7 If a supercapacitor is required, install it. For details, see 5.15 Supercapacitor.
Step 8 Take a spare RAID controller card out of its ESD bag.
Step 9 Determine the position of the RAID controller card on the mainboard. See Figure
5-63.

Step 10 Align the connector on the RAID controller card with the port on the mainboard,
and insert the RAID controller card slowly into the mainboard. See (1) in Figure
5-64.
