6.5 Replacing the chain catcher
A worn chain catcher must always be replaced with
a new one. Always use original spare parts.

Release the brake by moving the hand guard
backwards.
Remove the clutch cover, bar and chain.

Remove the chain catcher and replace with a new
one. See gure 12a. Tightening torque
3-4 Nm. Make sure that the vibration element is
tted correctly on the crankcase when a new chain
catcher is tted.

6.7 Dismantling the start/stop switch

Dismantle the cylinder cover and the air lter.
Dismantle the air lter holder. See the “Dismantling
the carburetor” chapter.

Undo screw B and dismantle the stop control A.
Unhook the rubber collar around the control from
the guide plugs. See gure 13.
Cleaning and inspection
• Clean and check all components carefully.
Parts must be replaced if cracked or show-
ing signs of other defects. Always use original
spare parts.

6.6 Fitting a spike bumper

Release the brake by moving the hand guard back-
wards.
Remove the clutch cover, bar and chain.

Fit the spike bumper as outlined in gure 12b.
Secure the screws. Tightening torque 3-4 Nm.
