7.23 Assembling the piston and cylinder

Oil the gudgeon pin bearing with two-stroke oil and
insert it into the crank rod. See gure 64.

Fit the piston with the arrow facing the exhaust
port, slide in the gudgeon pin and t the circlips.
NOTE! Use new circlips.

Fit the intake system onto the cylinder.
See gure 65.
NOTE!
It is very important that the intake system is
sealed. Otherwise the engine may seize up.

Oil the piston and piston ring with two-stroke oil.

Fit a new cylinder top gasket. See gure 66a.
Compress the piston ring and carefully push the
piston into the cylinder opening.

Attach the cylinder. The screws must be tightened
crosswise with a tightening torque of 13-15 Nm.

Pressure test the cylinder. See "Pressure testing
the cylinder".
8
Assemble the following parts:
spark plugs, tightening torque 18-25 Nm.
carburetor. See “Dismantling the carburetor”.
mufer, tightening torque 12-14 Nm.
hand guard
cylinder cover
