7.11 Assembling the oil pump and screen

Lower the oil lter, replace the oil pump as out-
lined in gure 20 and tighten the screw. Tightening
torque 1.5-2.5 Nm. Fit the chain guide plate.

Fit the pump drive wheel, needle bearing, clutch
drum and clutch. Tightening torque. 20 Nm.

Fit the chain, bar and clutch cover.

Fill with chain oil.

Adjust the oil pump with a screwdriver or a combi-
nation spanner. Turn the screw clockwise to reduce
the oil ow and anticlockwise to increase the oil
ow. See gure 22.
Recommended settings:
Bar 13"-15" Min position
Bar 15"-18" Mid. position
Bar 18"-24" Max position
WARNING!
Insufficient chain lubrication can
result in chain breakage, which
can cause serious personal injury.
