Configuration
11. The sensor configuration is complete. Now enter the logger’s site name in the Site Name field in the General section of
the form. The site name is the text that appears on the title screen on the LCD and also in the header of downloaded
data files.
12. Save the configuration to disk by clicking the [SAVE TO DISK] button. Enter a suitable name for your configuration.
Our example here will use the file name “SDI-12 Level and Battery.iris150FXcfg”. The file can then
be opened and sent to other loggers requiring the same sensor configuration at a later date.
13. Finally, send the configuration to the connected iRIS. To do this, click the [SEND CONFIG] button.
14. The sensor configuration will be sent in a series of blocks with a progress dialog indicating the status. The Site Name is
also sent at the end.
15. The process is now complete. If you want to edit or save the configuration in an already configured iRIS, the reverse
operation can be done by using the [RETRIEVE] button. The configuration can then be edited and sent back to the iRIS
and/or saved to disk.

§
iRIS Automated Upgrade Procedure
§
iRIS Manual Upgrade Procedure
3.5.1 Overview
This section describes the procedure to use when upgrading firmware/software components in an iRIS 150FX.
The upgrade procedure has been carried out many times without issue. However, because the process does
involve erasing and reprogramming of flash memory, it is important that a good, securely connected power
supply is provided to the iRIS throughout the upgrade process.

iRIS 150FX Application Software
3.5.2.1 iRIS 150FX Executive Firmware
The “Firmware” in the iRIS is analogous to the operating system in a PC. It is the firmware that contains all the low level
functions and library routines used by the Application Software.
The iRIS firmware is available as a single file for downloading and flash upgrading using iLink 2012.
The upgrade file is in the format:
