adjustIng tHe dYnamIC reversIng sensor
StrongArmParkDCusesadynamicreversingsensor.Asolidimmovableobjectblockingthegatewilltripthe
sensorandcausetheoperatortostop,reverseandentersafemode.
Availablesettings(0,1,and2),accessedthroughtheInstallerMenu,
allowyoutoadjustthelevelofsensitivity.Amaximumsensitivityofzero
(0)isthedefaultsetting.
When changing the setting, consider the site design and vehicular gate
trafc.Itisrecommendedthatyouusethemostsensitivesettingwhile
stillallowingforreliablegateoperation.
To adjust the sensitivity, take the following steps:
Atagatestatusdisplay,presstheMENUbuttontwice.TheCLOSETIMER
displayappears.
Simultaneously,presstheOPENandRESETbuttonstoentertheInstaller
Menu.
ReleasethebuttonsandtheLEARNLIMITSdisplayappears.
PressNEXTuntilthedisplay,showninFigure1,appears.Thefactorydefault
settingis0.
UsetheSELECTandNEXTbuttonstonavigateandchangethenumberonthe
display.
PressSELECTagaintoacceptwhatappearsonthedisplay.
ToexittheInstallerMenu,presstheMENUbutton.Thegatestatusappearsin
thedisplayindicatingyouhavereturnedtoRunMode.
NOTE: On the StrongArmParkDC 14, you can also adjust the spring tension,
in combination with the dynamic reversing sensor. A spring that is too tight
can cause a false alert.
Other adjustments involved in the arm reversing include:
• SR(IESSensorLogic)providestwosettings:Halfsecondreversalorfullopen
upontrigger.Thedefaultis½secondreversal.
Formoreinformation,reviewsettingsintheInstallerMenutable.
Ifthedynamicreversingsensoristripped,afaultoccursandSAFEMODEwill
appearonthedisplay.Formoreinformation,refertothe“System Diagnostic
Messages” on page 5-1.
