c) Place the NVMe U.2 drive on an appropriate ESD surface.
d) Repeat this step for any other NVMe U.2 drives that need to be removed from the failed NVMe
backplane.
3. To remove the empty NVMe drive backplane, complete the following steps:
a) Remove the thumbscrew (A) on the NVMe drive backplane.
b) Put your thumb on the front side of the latch (B) and put your index îš³nger against the rear of the
latch (C) as shown in the following îš³gure.
c) Push against the latch with your thumb and then pull the latch out with your index îš³nger. This
action releases the latch.
d) Rotate the backplane handle in the direction that is shown in the following îš³gure to unlock the
backplane from its slot.
e) Hold on to the NVMe drive backplane handle and by using your hand to support the bottom of the
backplane (D), pull out the backplane from its slot.
