Preparing the 9080-M9S system to remove and replace a USB cable
To prepare the system to remove and replace a USB cable, complete the steps in this procedure.
Procedure
1. From the Operation list, select Set Identify LED. Then, click OK to conrm the operation.
This action causes the blue server identify LED to turn on.
2. Use the blue LED to identify the server.
Ensure that the serial number of the system matches the serial number to be serviced.
3. If you powered off the system, from the Operation list, select FRU Level Deactivate. Then, click OK to
conrm the operation.
4. If you chose to complete this repair with the power off, label and disconnect both UPIC cables from
the system control unit as shown in the following gure.
UPIC cable locations are P1-C1-T1 and P1-C2-T1.
a. Remove the white plastic lock (A) from the plug housing.

b. Push down on the blue cable latch (B) and pull out the UPIC cable from the system control unit.
