c) Rotate the VPD card handle in the direction shown in the following îš³gure to unlock the card from its
slot.
d) Hold on to the VPD card handle and use your hand to support the bottom of the card as you pull the
card out from its slot as shown in the following îš³gure.

Replacing the vital product data card in the 9080-M9S system control unit
Follow these steps to replace the vital product data card.
Procedure
1. Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged
into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.
2. Replace the VPD card.
a) Ensure that the VPD card handle is open as shown in the following îš³gure.
b) Hold on to the VPD card handle and use your hand to support the bottom of the card as you slide
the card into its slot as shown in the following îš³gure.
c) Push against the left front of the blue touch point latch (A) to rotate the VPD card handle towards
the system (C). This action closes the latch.
