5.7 IBM MAX5 for BladeCenter
IBM MAX5 for BladeCenter, which is shown in Figure 5-3 on page 180, is a memory
expansion blade that attaches to HX5 2-socket blade servers. It has the following system
architecture features:

򐂰 Twenty-four DIMM slots and 6 memory buffers
򐂰 Four DIMM slots per memory buffer (two per channel)
򐂰 VLP DDR3 memory in 4 GB and 8 GB capacities, 1333 MHz
