Removing the light path diagnostics panel
You can remove this tier 2 CRU, or you can request IBM to remove it, at no additional charge, under the
type of warranty service that is designated for the compute node. Remove the light path diagnostics
panel to replace the panel or to reuse the panel in a new system-board and chassis assembly.
About this task
To remove the light path diagnostics panel, which is shown in Figure 40, complete the following steps.
Note: See ▌7▐ in Figure 2 on page 14 and ▌8▐ in Figure 3 on page 15 for the location of the light path
panel on the system board.
Procedure
1. Read the Safety topic and the “Installation guidelines” on page 35.
2. Shut down the operating system on all partitions of the compute node, turn off the compute node,
and remove the compute node from the IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis. See “Removing the
compute node from an IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis” on page 37.
3. Carefully lay the compute node on a flat, static-protective surface, with the cover side up.
