If your IBM Storage system doesn't boot when powered on, start by looking for a description of the problem on the console and follow any instructions provided. Make sure all cables and connections are secure and that power is supplied to your system from the source. Also, verify that the power supplies on your controller and disk shelves are working. If a power supply isn't illuminated, remove and reinstall it, ensuring it connects with the backplane. Check disk ownership to ensure disks are assigned to the system. Turn off your controller and disk shelves, then turn on the disk shelves. If the system still doesn't start, contact IBM technical support, as the system might be missing the boot image on the boot device.
