Continued, reliable operation of the radar depends on how you care for it. The simple maintenance tips that follow
can help you save time and money, and avoid premature equipment failure.
R WARNING! TURN OFF the radar before any maintenance.
z Keep the equipment as clean as possible.
L Use a soft cloth to remove dirt, dust and water.
z Check all hardware for loose screws, bolts, and so on.
z Check cables and terminal connections.
■ Display unit
D Cleaning
z Wipe the surface of the display unit with a clean soft cloth. If the LCD is dirty, a lm of contaminants may form,
and the screen may darken.
CAUTION: DO NOT use harsh solvents such as benzine or alcohol.
■ Scanner unit
D Cleaning
z Wipe the surface of the scanner with a clean soft cloth.
CAUTION: DO NOT use harsh solvents such as benzine or alcohol.
z Check that there is no dirt or caked-on salt.
A heavy deposit of dirt or caked-on salt on the painted surface of the upper scanner unit will cause a
considerable drop in radar performance.
z Check for cracks or deterioration of the rubber packing and replace it, if necessary.
D Mounting
z Check the mounting bolts of the scanner unit and tighten if necessary.
D Painting (for the Open array types)
z To prevent a corrosion, paint the surface of the scanner body and the base once a year or more.
CAUTION: DO NOT paint the antenna unit. Otherwise, the loss of the antenna sensitivity or a crack will cause.
