Adjusting Upper Shaft Shield Plate Position
When the machine is set for zigzag stitching, the needle should start to swing 7.8 mm to
8.2 mm above the needle plate surface
q .
1. Remove the top cover unit and turn the Power
ON.
Then select zigzag pattern No.8.
2. Turn the handwheel toward you slowly until the
needle
w starts to swing.
3. (A) If the needle swings higher than 8.2 mm,
loosen the set screw
e and turn the
upper shaft shield plate
r in direction of
A .
(B) If the needle swings lower than 7.8 mm,
loosen the set screw
e and turn the
upper shaft shield plate
r in direction of
B .
4. Place the right hand side of the Upper shaft
shield plate
r at the center position of the
upper shaft sensor
t and tighten the screw
e .
5. Turn the handwheel toward you to check the
needle swing position again, then attach the
top cover.
