4. Working with the woodchipper
4.2 Setting up the woodchipper
The following points must be followed when setting up the machine:
1. The woodchipper must be parked on a flat and stable ground. For machines
with chassis: use support legs.
For tractor mounted machines: ensure a safe stand of the tractor.
2. Use support legs and wheel chocks. Put on park brake.
3. It is only allowed to use the machine with mounted exhaust chute.
4. Position the exhaust chute and the exhaust cap away from the operator and
other persons or damageable items.
Danger of injuries and damage of property!
5. Stepping into the danger zone is prohibited.
6. The operator is in charge that no one steps into the danger zone.
7. Ensure that the operator has an operating range of min. 4 meters.
8. The location must be chosen so that the safety devices or their access is not
affected.
9. The properties of the operating area must be such that there are no dangers for
the operator (e.g. trip hazard, slipping, etc.).
10. The prescribed clearance between the bottom of the infeed chute and the
ground must be observed.
