Transport instructions
14.9 Transport regulations
It is the transport company's responsibility that all transport regulations are complied with.
It is also the transport company's responsibility that the unit or parts of the unit are properly se-
cured and do not shift during transport and thus get damaged.
Unloading instructions
The same rules apply as when loading the unit. See therefore subsection 14.5 Loading
instructions.
14.10 Unpacking and inspecting the unit
On receipt the unit is wrapped in PE film. After unpacking the unit, check for transport damage.
Check also whether the delivered goods correspond to the specification. Check in particular that
the control system and valves fitted on the outside of the unit are not damaged. Check that the
following parts are included:
• Vibration dampers and the drawing indicating the position of the dampers.
• Parts for coupling series 52: intermediate piece, inner and outer screen, and perhaps
loose coupling hub for motor.
14.11 Moving the equipment to the mounting site
After unloading and unpacking
Warning!
This screw compressor unit may be top-heavy. Use caution to prevent the unit from tipping.
After unloading and unpacking the unit it must only be lifted in the lifting device mounted on the
frame, see subsection 14.4 Handling of compressor and unit. If the unit is moved with e.g. a fork-
lift truck, it must be positioned on a pallet intended for the purpose. Secure the unit and make
sure that it does not tip over when starting, turning and braking the forklift truck.
Do not lift directly under the unit.
14.12 Storage
On delivery, the compressor units are charged with a protective gas (N2) with an overpressure of
0.5 bar to prevent moisture from entering the compressor. If the equipment is going to be stored
for a long time, the compressor should be equipped with a service manometer on the evacuation
valve so that the pressure can be checked. If the pressure falls below 0.1 bar, recharge with nitro-
gen (N2).
Place the unit on a level foundation and make sure it is not exposed to vibrations exceeding 1
mm/s. Also observe any storage instructions given by the motor manufacturer; some manufac-
turers have lower limits for standstill vibrations. Cover the unit to protect it from dust and dirt.
The unit must not be stored with other objects giving off acidic vapours or the like, as this can
have a corrosive effect on the unit. It is moreover required that the store room is dry (non-con-
densing) and frost-free.
When stored, the unit must be inspected at regular intervals. Every three months, the compres-
sor must be rotated 8-10 turns to prevent the oil in the bearings from drying out. Be aware that
some motor manufacturers may require more frequent rotation of shafts. As far as the motor is
concerned, check the lubricating nipples and lubricate them if necessary.
