Technical data
Note:
• The actual SPL value on site will be between the stated SPL and SWL depending on the
acoustic environment in the machine room.
• In a typical machine room without any noise absorbing materials, the actual SPL will be
approximately 14 dBA higher than the stated SPL (free field value).
• Checking the actual SPL must therefore always be accompanied by measurements of the
acoustic environment of the machine room. Alternatively, ISO 9614-2 could be followed
at the installation site to obtain SWL comparable values.
• Be aware of local/national requirements for the use of ear protection. Generally, it is rec-
ommended to use ear protection in machine rooms.
6.15 Vibrations and test pressure levels
6.15.1 Vibration data for compressors (all compressor types)
Vibration data for Sabroe compressors comply with the following standards:
Reciprocating compressors:
• ISO 10816, Part 6, Annex A, group 4, AB which fixes the max. permissible operating vibra-
tions at 17.8 mm/s.
Screw compressors:
• VDI 3836, Group 3, resilient (suspension type), Frequency range A. The limit stated here
is extended and applied to the attached motor.
The standard specifies a limit rms value of 10 mm/s for Zone I/II and a limit rms value of
15 mm/s for Zone II/III. Based on the design and decades of experience with it, the evalu-
ation criteria given for measured values belonging to Zone II is deemed as acceptable
for rms values up to 11.2 mm/s. Measured values above 11.2 mm/s are subject to the
stated actions given by the VDI 3836 Zone II/III classification.
The measurements are made as illustrated in the figure below (points A-D).

Pay attention to the following, however:
• Motors comply with EN 60034-14 (CEI/IEC 34-14) Class N.
