A.3.3 Serial Interface
The serial interface has the following characteristics.
Baudrate (bps): 1200 bps, 2400 bps, 4800 bps, 9600 bps, 19200 bps (selectable)
Data length: 7 or 8-bit (selectable)
Start bit: 1 bit
Parity bit: Odd, even, or none (selectable)
Stop bit: 1 bit
Handshaking: DTR protocol, XON/XOFF protocol (selectable)

The following table lists the serial connector pin assignments and describes their respective interface
signals.

Return path for data control signals
20 Data Terminal Ready (DTR) Out
Positive when the printer is ready to receive data,
and negative when the printer is not ready
