Additional Help • Turn the scanner off and then turn the scanner on. Also restart your
computer. If you have the option, you may want to consider power
cycling your wireless router as well. When that is done, re-run the
installer or the “Setup and Connect Scanner” application in your
scanner’s program group, and see if your problem is resolved.
• If you are unable to discover or communicate with your scanner in
any way, you can reset it through the following steps:
1. If the scanner is on, press and hold the power button until it says
that it is turning off.
2. Press and hold the reset button on the back of the scanner
3. While holding the reset button, press and release the power button
on the front of the scanner to turn on the scanner.
4. Wait until the scanner's OCP display text says the configuration
has been reset.
5. Release the reset button.
• If you are trying to access your scanner using a wireless or a wired
connection, and cannot find it in the list, it may be that it is on a
different sub-net than the one you are using, or the information
needed to discover your scanner is being suppressed by your
firewall. In this case, please select one of the advanced connection
options, and see if you can connect your computer directly to your
scanner.
I am connecting the scanner to my
network using the scanner’s wireless
signal, but I do not see my scanner in
the Available scanners list
• Check to make sure that your scanner is turned on, and that it is
showing the Wireless Network icon: . If you do not see this icon,
check that the Wireless switch on the back of the scanner is in the
correct position. Be careful to not break the switch.
• Make sure that your computer is properly connected to your network.
• Make sure your scanner is close to your wireless network’s router/
server (within six feet).
• If your scanner shows an error for its wireless network icon: , then
the scanner is still attempting to connect to the network. This can take
several minutes.
• Press the “i” button on your scanner, and verify that the “Name” that is
displayed is the one that you are looking for. You can also scroll down
on the scanner and confirm it has a suitable “Wireless Address”.
• Give your computer time to discover your scanner. In very noisy
environments this may take a couple of minutes. The list will
automatically update when your scanner is discovered.
• You may want to verify the scanner’s internal settings to make sure
they are configured to match your network’s settings. You can verify the
settings by going back to the screen that lists the scanner configuration
types and select Needs Configuring.
